Three warm colours and a sprig of sage

Chestnut, pumpkin and squash are all warm, so they sit together like dishes on one table. Sage is the only cool colour, and that makes it easy to find. In the US, Thanksgiving is Thursday 26 November this year. In Canada it falls on Monday 12 October.

Thanksgiving week, spread out

  • The Saturday before: shop for everything that keeps.
  • Monday: check who’s bringing what.
  • Tuesday: make anything that’s better after a day in the fridge.
  • Wednesday: chop, and set the table.
  • Thursday: cook, eat, and walk afterwards.
  • Friday: nothing. Leave it empty.
