Espresso, mocha, latte and cream: one coffee order, from the darkest shot to the foam. Every colour is a brown, so the week reads as one calm thing.

One colour, four strengths

This is a single-colour palette: every shade is a brown, only lighter or darker. That’s why it looks so tidy. You tell your categories apart by depth, not by colour, so the two you use most sit far apart: Work is the espresso and Personal is the latte.

Your week in mocha & cream

The week at the top of this post is a real week in Anser, in the Summer Picnic style with the Bold look for categories, so every event shows its full colour. To get the same look, open Settings › Appearance › Colours › How categories look and choose Bold. The palette works in every style.

A week that starts with coffee

  • Drink the first cup sitting down. Not at the desk.
  • One coffee with a friend. Put it on the calendar so it happens.
  • No caffeine after two. Your evening will thank you.
  • Saturday morning, slowly. A pastry counts as a plan.

Make it in Anser

The quickest way: tap Use this palette in Anser on the palette. It opens on your own week, to keep or undo. To set it up by hand:

  1. In Anser, open Settings › Categories. Tap the colour next to Work and paste its hex code. Do the same for Health, Personal and Goals.
  2. Open Settings › Appearance › Colours and tap Save as my palette, so you can switch back any time.
  3. Still in Colours, under Accent, choose Your own and paste the accent.
  4. Open Settings › Boundaries › How protected time looks, choose Your own and paste the protected time colour. It also colours your Deep Focus time.
