Where each colour goes
| Colour | Hex | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Work (maple) | #A0522D | Work blocks, in the richest brown of the set |
| Health (pancake) | #D4A373 | Walks, stretching and slow breakfasts |
| Personal (butter) | #EBD9B4 | Time with people, and time with nobody |
| Goals (coffee) | #6F4E37 | The project you’re giving an hour to |
| Accent (dark roast) | #3E2C1F | Buttons, today’s date and highlights |
| Protected time (cream) | #F6EBD9 | A barely-there wash over your protected time |
One colour family, four depths
This is a single-hue palette: every colour is a brown, only lighter or darker. That’s why it looks so tidy. The trade-off is that you tell your categories apart by depth, not by colour. So the two you use most sit at opposite ends: Work is the deep maple and Personal is the pale butter. If you’d like more contrast between categories, apple cider adds a red and a green to the same warmth.
Your week in maple syrup

A slow Saturday, written down
- 9am, not 7: pancakes. The alarm stays off.
- Late morning: a walk that ends at a coffee.
- Before noon: nothing else. Leave the gap on purpose.
- One hour in the afternoon: the thing you keep putting off. Then stop.
